About this artwork
The leatherback turtle is the largest of all the sea turtles. In Mauritius, you can go diving where you might see one of these beautiful creatures. I am painting the vast open spaces around our island and in this ocean the leatherback is king. I love the colors and textures of the ocean. The use of color elevates this painting to a great painting. The painting is simple with a wide format and just the turtle in the water is classic.
