About this artwork
Harlequins are the characters that most attract my attention in the carnivals of Venice. They are fun, full of colors, garlands, with a very particular clothing, with gloves, and also because behind the mask there are often other faces. It is the mystery of the mask. Not from the carnival!

« For me, to be an artist is to have the freedom of expression to be able to reflect on the joy of living, and to create a better world. »
Born in Venice, Italy, in 1945, Germán Tessarolo emigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina, when he was three months old. His great-grandfather was a drawing and sculpture teacher; his father, a baritone and violinist; and his uncle, a painter and publicist. Since he was a child, he showed a passion for painting and drawing, participating in several exhibitions. In 1969 he settled in Bogotá, Colombia, where he developed his career, constantly traveling to Europe and the US. Tessarolo is recognized for his talent and creativity, exhibiting in the US, France, Spain, Germany, Chile, Peru and Mexico . In addition to being a painter, he is also a publicist, combining both activities in an inspiring and creative way.
