About this artwork
In the Nasrid Palace, light itself seems to be part of the architecture. It streams through arches and openings, travels over columns and walls, and transforms the space with every step. Contours dissolve, colors begin to glow, darkness suddenly becomes depth. What remains is less the memory of a specific place than a feeling: being drawn by light from one room to the next.

My engagement with art began early in my childhood and youth. I chose my "masters" based on what motivated me in my exploration – among them Anneliese Schöfbeck, Willy Günther, Hans-Wilfried Scheibner, Angelika Tübke, and Piotr Sonnewend. My aim was never to copy, but rather to connect what I had learned, seen, understood, and felt with my own expression and to broaden my way of seeing and thinking.
For a while, I worked on strongly biographical themes; the pomegranates and the series "The Silent Scream" were created during this phase. Today, my work is more focused on the present moment: as travel notes, as immediate visual responses to light, place, mood, and inner movement.
The driving forces behind my work are emotional and intellectual questions – and their translation and organization into images. My aim is to depict truth: to make the inner perspective visible through artistic dialogue, within the external viewpoint.
