About this artwork
This shot belongs to a series of images called Urban, in which I look for a meeting point between the urban landscape and Street Photography.
The images in this series reveal the dynamic aspects and the close relationship between man and the places in which he lives, the urban centres.
I always feel the need for the human figure which defines the proportional relationship but also the aspect of everyday life that I try to enhance.
I myself am… often surprised and astonished by the interweaving of lights, structures and reflections that are created in these environments. In this type of photography the shot is less reasoned,
more instinctive, giving the viewer a greater sense of spontaneity of the scene.

Giampaolo Antoni, of Tuscan origin, lives in Tuscany and has been involved in photography for over forty years.
His sectors of greatest strength and interest are architectural landscape photography and street photography and in tackling these different areas, Giampaolo demonstrates an artistic sensitivity and a keen eye for detail that make his images unique and engaging.
Trained in the era of the analogue era, with the iconic medium format film cameras, he has cultivated a deep connection with the traditional creative process. Through work in the darkroom, he perfected his skills, developing an indissoluble bond with the world of black and white photography which still represents his best means of expression today.
