About this artwork
The Sasso Lungo and the Sasso Piatto, with the Sella massif in the background, seen from the Alpe di Susi,.
In this canvas made with a palette knife and brush, the ocher and browns of the rocks and larch woods juxtaposed with
blue and the whites of the snow create a contrast in which the viewer can literally get lost by observing the play of light and small hidden details.

« Painting means to undertake a journey in search of a balance between form and color, with the aim of creating a visual harmony. »
Gianfranco Combi is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in Switzerland. He describes the key theme in his art as being the search for an image that, despite being realistic, leaves the role of absolute protagonist to the painting itself. Combi endeavors to convey the beauty of nature to viewers. He creates almost exclusively using oils on linen canvases.
