The Haven is large glowing green landscape painting of a forest path leading to a farm and its buildings in the distance. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The farm is intentionally small in the distance and the painting is big which heightens the feeling of a distance and space and the anticipation of arrival. There are a myriad of rainbow colours in the painting, despite the overall appearance of it being green. These colours reflect differently in different light – just like a real woodland walk does. The impression is of sunlight through trees which range from brilliant white and yellow highlights though to the greens, blues and purples of the shadows of the leaves and the trees.
