This winter scene captures the quiet beauty of snow and shifting light with bold, expressive brushwork. A golden railing glows against the cool whites and grays of freshly fallen snow, while deep greens and reds peek through in the shadows, offering warmth and contrast. As I was painting, strong winds blew the snow in a cascade down from the tree which I captured with dynamic strokes, giving the painting a sense of movement within stillness.
