About this artwork
The artist is very fond of using the drips of watercolour under the influence of gravity to assist in forming the composition. She doesn't usually include faces when painting nudes but this time she felt it completed the piece, without bearing a direct resemblance to the model. The reds & blues worked very well in the semi-abstract technique she uses to create a finished work of art: knowing when to stop is a constant dilemma!

Gilly Gobinet is an award-winning artist based in Antigua & Barbuda whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in St. Lucia, Anguilla, Venezuela, and France. Gobinet's artistic expression is translated through varying styles with watercolors and acrylics on paper, canvas, or wood.
