About this artwork
In creating this work, I mixed acrylics, oil, pastels and sprays to create an explosion of vivid colors and different textures. My intention was to combine expressionism with elements of comics and pop art, also introducing a strong sense of symbolism. The result is an energizing representation that mixes seriousness and playfulness, inviting the observer to reflect on the duality of nature and human perception. This canvas is a hymn to expressive… freedom, ready to bring a wave of freshness and originality to any space. The work is signed on the back and catalogued in my personal archive with the code 02021.
Giovanna Morelli, with a background in civil engineering and architecture, uses a variety of techniques including drawing, oil painting, printmaking and sculpture. His artistic language oscillates between grotesque and monstrous images and a more fairy-tale world of soft figures and pastel colours, suggesting a veiled and ironic eroticism. Her works evoke ambiguous emotions, often accompanied by a hint of cynicism, exploring autobiographical themes such as family and motherhood.
