About this artwork
It is a year we haven't traveled and I miss it greatly. I remember our summer holidays in Spain and how I used to complain about the heat. But now I wish to get a bit of that heat, sweaty and got days. I want to feel it again and this time not to complain about it, instead take my clothes off, let the sun to do it's job, grab a cold drink and then cool myself in the pool.

Gitana Vaicys is an experienced UK-based painter with international exposure. Her early life as a child of deaf, Lithuanian immigrants has greatly affected her methodology as an artist, Her figurative and portrait paintings are informed by her close observations of body-language, subtle characteristics and personality traits, a skill she developed while learning English. Her subjects are set in colorful, abstract, geometric or patterned backgrounds, painted in acrylics and oils.
