About this artwork
The work Good Vibes Only radiates a visual joy that vehemently imposes itself on an apparently chaotic background. The central subject, a stylized rainbow emerging from two clouds stained with color, is as simple as it is powerful: a universal symbol of hope, rebirth and positivity. However, what makes this canvas interesting is not the subject itself, but rather the material and chromatic treatment. The dark background, full of multicolored splashes,… seems to evoke the disorder of the unconscious or the complexity of reality, from which, however, a clear message emerges: only positive vibrations. The use of spray and dripping recalls street aesthetics, with an almost naïve attitude that caresses childhood without trivializing it. A work that communicates with lightness but not superficiality.
« Painting is like entering a bubble where time is suspended and nothing else exists. »
Giuseppe Valia is an artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. For him, the act of creation is a portal, connecting him with the unexplored, as well as an escape. Valia's works are diverse in both theme and genre, his atmospheric urban landscapes, graffiti-inspired pieces, and portraits are most often created using oils, acrylics, and spray paint on canvas or wood.
