About this artwork
This work is created by subtracting threads from the canvas in order to obtain solid, empty, and transparent spaces. The fluorescent color is applied on the reverse side of the canvas so that it reflects onto the white wall. The protagonist of the work is, in fact, the inner space of the canvas – the space between the canvas and the wall – which fills with shimmering color that changes with the light and the wall.
In this piece, I explored the… delicate balance of complementary forces—soft acrylic hues bleed gently into cotton’s textured weave. I aimed to evoke calmness and subtle tension, inviting viewers to feel the quiet interplay of color and form. This artwork brings serene energy and thoughtful rhythm, perfect for spaces seeking harmony and introspection.
« Art is a way to express oneself in joy and freedom, as well as the love for oneself and for others. »
Giustino Caposciutti is an award-winning painter, textile artist, and printmaker based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and France. He describes his diverse compositions as representing messages of hope. Caposciutti's artistic practice is marked by discovery through the materials he employs. For him, after having "given birth" to a piece, it assumes the property of change, just as in the natural environment.
