Giusy Lauriola is an Italian visual artist living and working in Rome. Her research explores the relationship between the human figure, nature, memory, relationships, light, and matter, moving in a dimension suspended between reality and imagination. Using acrylic, enamel, and resin, she creates rarefied landscapes and figures that emerge from the material, immerse themselves in water, or approach until they almost merge, exploring the boundaries between individual and environment, presence and dissolution, self and other. Her works have been exhibited in Italy, Japan, Greece, Syria, France, Monaco, and Poland, in museums and institutions including the MACRO in Rome, Palazzo Merulana, and the Italian Cultural Institutes in Tokyo and Damascus.
