About this artwork
In my work I mix the old with the new by combining contemporary features with traditional Egyptian iconography. Using oil paints, I created a portrait that captures the essence of transience and the connection between past and present. This painting will bring a unique energy and a bridge between eras to any room.

Bas was born in today's Ukraine, and has lived in Germany since 1992. After studying art in Münster and at the acclaimed Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, he exhibits regularly in Germany. Bas deconstructs his first draft by, for example, painting over the painting with another painting and allowing chance to play a certain role.
