About this artwork
In this work I worked with oil paint and varnish to create a texture that expresses feelings of depth and complexity. My intention was to capture an atmosphere of thoughtfulness and invite the viewer to experience the quiet power of inner reflection. This painting brings a subtle yet vibrant energy to any room and encourages contemplative contemplation.

Bas was born in today's Ukraine, and has lived in Germany since 1992. After studying art in Münster and at the acclaimed Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, he exhibits regularly in Germany. Bas deconstructs his first draft by, for example, painting over the painting with another painting and allowing chance to play a certain role.
