One sees an overlay of two painted portraits, one is an unknown young man, the other is the great painter, Norbert Schwontkowski, who has unfortunately passed away. The color tone is pale mint; the color tone of contemplation and transience.

Bas was born in today's Ukraine, and has lived in Germany since 1992. After studying art in Münster and at the acclaimed Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, he exhibits regularly in Germany. Bas deconstructs his first draft by, for example, painting over the painting with another painting and allowing chance to play a certain role.
