About this artwork
"I love creating the illusion of brushstrokes through distortion and pixel sorting. It's one of my favorite things about glitch art. It requires pre-planning and a forecasting of how the highlights and shadows will respond to the distortion, but there is also an accidental element to it all which makes it exciting."
This is a mixed medium painting combining oil and acrylic with ink, digital distortion, and pixilation.
Golareh's process combines… digital manipulation and fine art analogue brushwork. First she creates the concept digitally using a variety of mediums including photography, pixilation, and digital painting. She then transfers the digital work onto a canvas and applies her oil and acrylic impasto brushstrokes. The final result is a unique marriage of classical and emerging glitch art.

Golareh Safarian is a painter and photographer based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally. In addition, her art has been featured in publications such as Voyage LA and SHOUTOUT LA. Safarian likens her compositions to visual poems that translate narratives based on innocence and corruption, hope and despair, dreams and reality, "often creating a dance between the optimist, the pessimist, and the realist".
