About this artwork
This bronze sculpture captures a quiet moment of companionable silence. A woman sits on a rustic wooden bench beside a small cat. Both figures share a sense of stillness. The artist employs a tactile approach to the surface. Rough textures contrast with the smooth curves of the female form. This creates a raw, organic energy throughout the piece.
The figures are rendered with a weathered patina. Deep browns and oxidized greens suggest the passage… of time. The composition emphasizes the emotional bond between species through proximity and shared posture. The bench acts as a grounding element, anchoring the scene in a domestic or park-like setting.
The craftsmanship highlights a balance between abstraction and realism. The woman's posture is contemplative, while the cat remains alert and poised. Every indentation in the metal serves to trap light and shadow. This adds three-dimensional depth to the modest scale of the artwork. The sculpture ends with the slender, tapered legs of the benc
