About this artwork
This artwork is essentially an acrylic painting but with some areas of the painting, the acrylic paint has been mixed with pumice which adds a nice soft raised texture to the painting. Also, it's important to note that there is a very slight warp to painting but it's hardly noticeable.

Gordon Mortensen is an American artist who aims to uncover the unexpected through his art. Primarily working with acrylics but also experimenting with mixed media his artistic process is chaotic and often unorthodox. Mortensen applies multiple coats of color and a variety of textured papers to the surface of his artworks only to then gouge and remove the layers and reveal the unknown beneath. The final pieces amalgamate disorder and deliberateness to produce art with a profoundly expressive energy.
