About this artwork
"Levit" is a large abstract artwork in Graham's Reform series. The reform series aligns with a structural architectural design.
Levit has been constructed, then deconstructed in parts, and restructured to create a level of interest as the layers build up and interact. The painting is colour field, and features vast sections of minimalist colours. The design and style used intended to exude calmness. Though it is colourful, the use of muted tones… and generally straight lines ensures that the painting is a statement piece, but is not too dramatic.

« Minimalism is about inventing something which does not exist and making it appear simple, though in reality complexity is key. »
Graham Eldridge is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Inspired by architectural design, he describes his works as being imbued with a level of contradiction, whereby the painting may appear simple at first, yet the complexity is present upon further examination. In his pieces, Eldridge often obscures various architectural elements until the original design and inspiration are difficult to determine.
