Gregg Simpson was born in Ottawa, Canada, and his paintings reflect the milieu between abstraction and surrealism. Throughout his career, Simpson has explored collage, pop-art, neo-surrealism, and currently creates using organic abstraction. With landscapes and figures as subject matter, the evolution of his paintings is spontaneous in nature. He adds and removes paint until the final elements emerge. The final interpretation of his art, he says, is ultimately up to the viewer.
