About this artwork
Charles Baudelaire's poem "The Albatross," precisely cut from stainless steel, becomes a sculptural object in which literature is anchored in matter. This work questions the tension between the permanence of text and the lightness of thought.

Grégory Valentin transforms complete literary texts into abstract visual works. Each painting is composed of the entire text of a book, meticulously transcribed and structured to form a visual composition in which the literary content becomes graphic material. This work questions the place of great texts in our society and their ability to transcend time in a new form. The apparent abstraction invites the viewer to approach: behind the visual veil, the text remains intact, visible, on the edge of readability, in a format that preserves its essence.
