This image is made from lines freely drawn on the paper. Each line stands confidently on its own within the pictorial space and is created in a single, unified stroke. There is no interference from subsequent corrections. This apparent jumble merges into a unified whole upon closer inspection.
The apparent jumble consists of individual abstract forms, created through abstraction from the shading and surface textures of the skin. These abstract forms… are mostly unrelated to one another. Only the presence of neighboring forms creates a sense of unity.
The substrate is DESSIN á GRAIN drawing paper by Claire Fontaine with a grammage of 180 g/m².
