About this artwork
The Madeira Flower Festival inspired the artist who wanted to create this painting. It is a canvas painted with acrylic on linen canvas. Wooden frame support. Hooking system on the back. Sides painted white. It is an original and unique work. The Funchal carnival during the flower festival on the island of Madeira is very famous.
It was on a beautiful month of May that the artist took part in this carnival and wanted to pay tribute to these women… who paraded in traditional dress accompanied by their daughter. They parade offering flowers, a tradition where flowers are queens. They can be given in any season and of course at the time of the change of year to the new year, under the holly brings good luck. The background in mauve and pink colors are the reflections of the light that the artist wanted to render. Beautiful depth for this painting which reflects the happiness and hope of a new year which begins.
« I choose to paint in the open air in the villages of painters, or in demonstrations of painting, which enables me to exchange with the public. »
