About this artwork
A colorful composition of pinks and greens and oranges interspersed with beiges and off whites and black and white spontaneous brushstrokes. Painted when spring had long last arrived and because of that, I think this painting has a certain optimism.

Hal Mayforth is a prize-winning American artist who has exhibited his paintings in the United States. In addition to his illustrations, he also creates large-scale abstract compositions. Mayforth is inspired by numerous sources, including vintage comics and cartoons, as well as American petroglyphs, and outsider art. He begins each work by painting in a gestural manner, then painstakingly edits, both adding and removing elements, sometimes taking months to complete a single piece.
