About this artwork
The moment that started it all. A scene from the film "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow." Sophia Loren, seductive, self-assured, dressed in a black corset and black stockings, exuding elegance, eroticism, tension, and passion. A corset speaks of the "Women's Secret," that secret of women that cannot be put into words but can only be felt. This sensuality, I thought, is what I have to capture. I have to succeed in permanently transferring what is only visible…
for a few moments on a cinema screen to another dimension. I found this black corset, draped it on a canvas, and blended it with black acrylic paint. A corset not just as a representation, but an actual garment.
It is a tribute to femininity, to secrets, to what lies hidden beneath the surface. This corset has witnessed movements, absorbed memories... Who was this woman?
