About this artwork
This is an oil painting on panel using figurines to explore some of the delicate realities of relationships. They live in a still frame existence but imply monumental movement while inducing a sense of unease and subtle humor all at the same time.
Here, we can see the figurine threatening to topple over the edge of an already broken chair, suggesting the turbulence at the height of an unstable structure. Above her hangs a framed ear on the wall,… beckoning the viewer to listen as if moments later all that will be left is a pile of shattered ceramic and a chair no one can sit on.
