About this artwork
This is a painting of an Indian Sati, or a woman who throws herelf on her husband's funeral pyre. In this instance however, it is a symbol of destruction of the self through erotic pursuits, which clears the way for renewal and new growth. The image is done in gaphite and acrylic, and is approimately the same size as it's oil original.
