About this artwork
The etching series “Loop” is a visualisation of the every-day experience of having a vibrant and busy life and being ‘in the midst of it all’. Most of us would recognise this feeling at times, juggling work and families for example with all the fun and joy this brings.
“Loop” is printed in a number of colour compositions.
This allows me to explore the possibilities and effects the colours have on each other when printed from the 3 different plates… that make each images. One colour version is inspiring the next, keeping me experimenting more.
Some of the colour combinations will be one-offs, most will be printed in a small edition of 5.

Heike Roesel is fascinated by the changing British south coast and the drama of the erosion of the cliffs. The painter and printmaker, who is based in the United Kingdom, finds the point where land and sea meet to be an endless source of inspiration. It is important for Roesel to develop images through the printmaking process, allowing the piece to leave room for an individual and imaginative interpretation.
