About this artwork
This work is part of a triptych and relates the advertising aesthetic that often seems to isolate the woman's body, becoming an object of desire by isolating its details. My painting targets precisely these elements and frees them from the logic of imposition and control to convey respect, dignity, and freedom. The primary colors of the canvas also have a conceptual relationship: freedom is of primary importance and are vehicles of hope and self-determination.… Just as the unconventional form also has a conceptual source.
Helga Trestini is a painter with a solid background in the visual arts, primarily using oil and acrylic on canvas or plywood. Her technique blends graphic elements with realistic subjects, drawing inspiration from Pop Art and Op Art but reinterpreting them through the use of vibrant colors, unconventional geometric shapes like the diamond, and a symbolic language rich in archetypes. Her works convey energy, hope, and a vibrant strength linked to female emancipation, stimulating reflection on women's power, self-determination, and inner transformation.
