This artwork portrays the psychological and physical struggles many women face worldwide, depicting their suffering under oppression and injustice to the point of wishing to disappear, even if it means sinking beneath the sea. It presents a fantasy depiction of a girl in tattered clothes, with remnants suggesting a once noble status. However, her past did not shield her from deep emotional and mental harm.
Trapped by fear and expecting harm at any… moment, she seeks refuge among the sea’s crevices, stones, and plants. Strikingly, she is not alone, many others have also chosen the sea’s depths as their sanctuary. This is symbolized by hidden eyes scattered among the corals and folds of the ocean.
The girl’s emotions shift between fear and despair, yet moments of hope and security emerge within the sea’s embrace. The artwork masterfully conveys these themes through its rich colors and techniques, employing drawing knives and other effects to create a profound and impactful image.
