About this artwork
Here is an adapted version of the artist statement:
This image was created while listening to the song "Eyes In The Back Of Your Head" by The Adicts at night. The lines "ALL YOU GOT IS MONEY, ALL I'VE GOT IS TIME" struck a chord with me and became the inspiration for this dreamlike scene.
I painted a surreal nighttime garden with colorful, palm-like structures dominating the background. The curious, wide-eyed birds are silent observers of this… dream world—one carries a peace flag as a symbol of hope and rebellion against material things.
In the foreground, everyday objects merge with fantastical elements: an espresso pot, a blue cup on a wooden chair, and a purple children's bicycle. These objects serve as personal anchors in an otherwise floating reality.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Henrik Becker is a self-taught artist who works intensively with paintings on canvas and works on paper. He captures both large-scale, abstract forms in oil and acrylic, as well as fine, figurative works, always searching for new color constellations. Becker allows thoughts and emotions to flow, addresses social divisions, and conveys a melancholic sense of humor. His works tell the viewers' stories, uniting dreams and reality, thus creating a certain emotionality.
