About this artwork
I painted *The Mijas Pueblo Donkeys* after watching these animals around the village streets. The painting shows two donkey forms against bands of blue, pink, and earth tones.
The colors are muted—coral pinks and browns against blue-greens, built up in layers with visible brushwork.
I live in Mijas Pueblo outside Málaga, where these donkeys are part of the landscape. But honestly, the painting is maybe about Andalucia and donkeys— more in regards… to all the colors here in nature and Spaniards playfullness in life.
