About this artwork
This work is part of the large family of fantastic views that gave life to the book "SUBCONSCIO," which you can read in PDF format in my publications section. The titles of these works are almost always linked to suggestion: to what the painting conveys to me once finished.
I've always liked this view because it has that involuntary poetic quality, those nuances and reflections that cannot come from my will but which somehow spring from my inner… space, my subconscious.
The work is in all respects an acrylic on MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), painted with final acrylic varnish.
Measures 50 x 50 cm.
Its title is "MANHATTAN" and its Normoid archive number is #0201

Herman Normoid comes from a background in cultural heritage restoration and uses mixed media ranging from pure-pigment acrylics to large- and medium-format graffiti on stucco. His style originates from the informal, evolving into a loosely controlled formality, characterized by the exclusive use of large, flat palette knives and steel tips, for intense, textured paintings. His works convey an instinctive energy rooted in the subconscious, allowing emotion and spontaneity to guide both the creation and the viewer's experience.
