About this artwork
Surreal figuration, an out-of-body encounter. Intuitively designed. A third figure, small in stature, seems to be watching the scene without being involved.
Hermann Böcker
Germany
Hermann Böcker, a nature-loving surrealist, puts observations of nature on paper with pencil and ink before finishing them with watercolors. His techniques and styles are fast, spontaneous and reveal influences from Salvador Dali, Max Ernst and Hans Bellmer, the main representatives of surrealism. His drawings evoke strong emotions by combining typical scenarios with unreal, distorted figures that invite the viewer to question reality.
