« The underlying themes of my art deal with questions of identity and of a psychological sense of belonging. These questions have preoccupied me for the better part of my life. »
The underlining themes in Hinglaz Bardoloi’s abstract works explore questions of identity, the old and the new, as well as the sense of belonging. Through an intuitive and subconscious process, a complex and multi-layered world seeps into Bardoloi's paintings, translating her own inner struggle in order to make sense of her human purpose. She uses diverse objects to create texture which includes stone, household objects, twigs, and paper with acrylics on canvas, glass, wood, and paper.
