At first glance, the large kanji character at the center may draw the viewer’s attention, but the true essence of this work lies in the smaller character above it: “信”. This kanji is composed of two elements—the left side signifies “person,” and the right side, “word.” Together, they embody the act of making a vow or keeping a promise. It represents a strong conviction—one that advances with unwavering determination and a clear, focused mind.
This… work expresses the beauty in the fusion of intentionally drawn lines and unintentionally smudged ink.
The paper used is Chinese Xuan paper. The ink was carefully ground on an inkstone before writing to produce the ideal tone. The brush is handmade by a Japanese artisan.
