About this artwork
A small group of horses drinking in the river. Horses have always fascinated me. As a small boy, I would occasionally pass a fence under an apple tree where an old white horse was standing who was living out his retirement there and who I had ignored for a long time. One day, as I was walking past, I noticed that my shoelace had come undone. I bent down to retie it when I noticed movement next to me. The white horse stretched his head over the gate…
and watched with interest, and that's when I fell in love with the horse species. Since then, I've always looked at horses and drawn them or painted them in oil and acrylic. I've never ridden one and have never had the desire to, but I'm glad that they inhabit this world just like me.
