About this artwork
Creating an artistic depth in your place with a full-story of this sculpture into a frame.
The story of "Ars Rhetorica"
(derived philosophy from Aristotle)
Persuasion happens when something clicks where little and broken pieces combine to become one whole background.
It is to be fully soaked in, immersed, being touched on the brain and heart, being taken away with thoughts and mind.
The hand in the sculpture is trying to give a message to the… brain, representing Ethos and Logos.
The stamp is almost to press towards the heart with the red ink trying to impress the mind. It is attached to the background of one’s personality to show how they correlate and interact with each other. This represents Pathos and partially Ethos.
The original art work is made with 100% premium couverture chocolate and cacao butter into 3D sculptural form then taken into a photography to Giclée print.

Hyunju An, born in South Korea and based in Melbourne, is a sculptor and visual artist who crafts profound chocolate carvings, drawing from her background in psychology and patisserie. Using a tourne knife, she meticulously sculpts solid, tempered couverture chocolate—eschewing moulds for a raw, direct technique—resulting in rough, scratched, and irregular surfaces. Her works embody psychological ambivalence, inviting viewers into a realm of vulnerability and introspection, and encouraging gentle self-acceptance through the beauty of imperfection.
