About this artwork
"Lily" is a portrait of a young lady named Lily. The artist works in a interesting and unusual way. First the the motif is painted in a realistic style and after it is finished - covered with a layer of new paint. In the end of the painting process we just see some remnants from the motif before. The colours which the artist can see during the painting session are very important. They are combined to a mix in the second layer of paint.

Igor Bleischwitz is a young painter born in Kazakhstan and based in Germany, who has exhibited his work nationally. Inspired as much by cave paintings and ancient frescoes as he is weathered posters found in city streets, he composes works that similarly seek to reflect lived experiences with sensitivity and vitality. Bleischwitz begins by painting realistic representations of his chosen motifs, then completely paints over them until mere fragments are visible, capturing both the ambiguity and subconscious memory of moments, people and places.
