About this artwork
The painting of Cherub was created in 2015 & became the first work in my new set of paintings called later "The Sky Sultans". This set of paintings is dedicated to Swifts, the most mysterious birds who spend the main part of life in the sky. Once I even managed to hold this heavenly wanderer in my hands. At that time he had no idea of being the source of my inspiration in future.
The theoretical calculations testify convincingly that in long… history of the evolution of living aircrafts was put an end with the advent of Swifts. It is impossible to fly better than a swift. Sultans of the sky who do not know the earth, they are divine creations looking like cherubs being visible in reality

Igor Eliseev is a Russian painter who has opened numerous solo exhibitions throughout China and Russia. Working with oil on canvas, Eliseev is inspired by diverse stimuli, including Turkish carpets, Arabian stories, and the Cartier tank watch. Mysterious and radiant, Eliseev's figurative works border on the surreal, and are abundant with geometric patterns and motifs from ancient Arabic art.
