I stand here, my face etched with lines that tell stories of time and experience. My eyes, deep and knowing, gaze outward, holding memories of lives intertwined within me. I am not alone—within the folds of my skin, nestled in the curves of my limbs, countless faces emerge, whispering their own truths. Some stare in silence, others reach out, caught in moments of longing, sorrow, or contemplation. I hold a fish in my hands, but even it carries another…

Igor Gorban was born in 1957 in Odessa, a Black Sea port city, into an artist family. He studied at the Odessa Art School and at the Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of Art. His work has been exhibited extensively, with collectors in the former USSR, Europe, and the United States. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where he continues his practice as an artist and art teacher.
