Igor Gorban was born in 1957 in Odessa, a Black Sea port city, into an artist family. He studied at the Odessa Art School and at the Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of Art. His work has been exhibited extensively, with collectors in the former USSR, Europe, and the United States. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where he continues his practice as an artist and art teacher.
