About this artwork
This is a painting of one of the places in our village called Hatne near Kyiv, Ukraine where I often walk with my dog. The village is famous for the best preserved mammoth found here in 1949. The village name is translaged as swampy place. It has lots of small hills, little pods and a river.
Igor Piddubnyi is a Ukrainian painter with roots in independent artistic exploration, refined by years of training at Yana Antonova’s Private Art School in Kyiv. His signature divisionist style features bold, separated patches of color and richly textured impasto strokes, creating vibrating, luminous effects in his landscapes and figures. Through his art, he conveys awe for overlooked moments, inviting viewers to reflect deeply on the simple yet profound beauty of everyday life.
