About this artwork
This painting is on fiberglass taken from a kamikaze drone I collected in downtown Kyiv, Ukraine. It is based on a photograph I took along the road near Kyiv. On the back of the work, I cut out a section to reveal the original fiberglass from the drone fragment. A weapon of destruction thus becomes a canvas for art. The vibrant, textured sky is an ode to the beauty and hope that endure even after devastation. It testifies to the belief that beauty,… like life, always prevails.
Igor Piddubnyi is a Ukrainian painter with roots in independent artistic exploration, refined by years of training at Yana Antonova’s Private Art School in Kyiv. His signature divisionist style features bold, separated patches of color and richly textured impasto strokes, creating vibrating, luminous effects in his landscapes and figures. Through his art, he conveys awe for overlooked moments, inviting viewers to reflect deeply on the simple yet profound beauty of everyday life.
