2023 / Acrylic and graphite on stretched canvas plus a wood bookmark.
This piece is comprised of two canvases and a wood sculpture of a bookmark, it is meant to be installed in a corner to make the piece look like an open book, and the bookmark goes in the middle, the painting depicts several characters from classic story tales, some of them with books and some others with glasses. The piece is a celebration of children literature.
The piece is… unframed, but ready to hang, and the sides of the pieces are painted with gilded gold paint.

Ilaamen Pelshaw is a Guatemalan painter based in the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally. Growing up with a grandfather who was an artist and muralist, Pelshaw became interested in art herself and developed a practice centered around positivity and warmth. Mostly working in acrylic on canvas, her work is always colorful and illustration based, whether through quirky animal portraits or paintings of Latin American culture and crafts.
