El cotorro (The parrot) is an illustrative painting showing a Cotorra Parrot talking on the phone, the background of the painting shows some Mexican decorations with the number 24. This piece was created for the annual art exhibition "Lotería" by Cactus Gallery in LA California. For the exhibition each artist is assigned one of the cards from the colorful Mexican board game similar to Bingo,… but called Lotería. The Parrot card in the original game is #24, hence the number in the background.
Side note: In Latin America, a common nickname for someone who is very talkative would be "cotorro" or "cotorra", showing the parrot talking non stop on the phone is a reference to that.
« I create colorful, warm and happy art- just like my homeland. My graphic-design and illustration background allowed me to diversify my style into Illustrative, geometric and expressionist themes. »
