About this artwork
Original hand-painted watercolor on 100% cotton Fabriano paper made in spring 2020.
The lockdown period in Italy has given me the opportunity to see closely the re-flourishing of that nature that the continuous intervention of man on it often inhibits. He showed us all his strength that gave me the inspiration for this powerful work.

« I let my ideas be guided. Water, shape, and color are determined accomplices, they are the ones who take me wherever they want. »
Ilaria Finetti is a painter and draftsman based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. Her art blends the poetic language of illustration with a more abstract and surreal code, made up of large backgrounds, organic shapes, as well as dreamlike and floating figures. Drawing inspiration from nature, biology, and microcosms, the recurring themes in Finetti's pieces are fertility, the process of creating life, and the intrinsic link with water.
