About this artwork
In this pop work, I used two symbols from the 70s: a television with a test screen that signals the absence of a signal and a piece of a photo of the actor Jack Nicholson in the film “Shining” in full psychopathic delirium. The test screen is the symbol of the earth facing humanity (embodied by Nicholson) Using acrylic, collage and felt, I created a rich texture that contrasts with the vintage and colorful patterns, encapsulating this destructive… madness in the face of a nature that no longer responds to anything. This piece is intended to provoke reflection and to take the viewer as a witness to this state of affairs and perhaps allow him to introspect on his relationship to the world… the mark of the television is a humorous and ironic touch as I often like to bring to my works!
Imane Dejardin was born in Liège (Belgium) in December 1975. Since her early childhood, she has experimented with many forms of artistic expression, but it's in painting that she has found the best way to express herself! After taking part in art workshops for several years, she graduated in painting at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Arlon (Belgium), where she was congratulated by the jury. Emotion is at the heart of her artistic journey. Like an ode to life, her work is colorful and full of energy. Creativity and imagination are the key words guiding her painting.
