About this artwork
The February sky has a special light. The trees and the earth draw contrasting figures, free and very graphic lines, in the white, snow-covered landscape. There reigns an atmosphere of serenity and enveloping softness translated by the curves, the interweaving, the diluted, the transparency of the textures on the canvas. The artist testifies to his immediate feelings in a dialogue between his bodily sensations expressed in a round and confident gesture,… in contact with the texture and with regard to the emotional charge, which the work in construction sends back to him.
« The originality of a work does not lie in its difference but in its singularity which makes it unique. Every work is emotion. »
Inès Khadraoui is a French artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in the United States. She describes her art as sensory and emotional experimentation, it is a response to a need for "refocusing the human at the heart of our lives". Khadraoui perceives a great loneliness in our modern connected society, which she believes is a silent energy, unconsciously asleep. Her bold and repressive compositions are created using acrylics and oils on canvas.
